Vesak Festival
Each religion has it's own festivals. The big day for Buddhists' is Wesak, which falls annually on the May full-moon day and commemorates the birth, enlightenment and passing way of Buddha, all three events having taken place, according to Buddhist reckoning on the same lunar date.
Wesak is marked by rejoicing, meditation and prayer, large stage-sets or pandals depicting scenes from Buddha's life are erected in the streets and houses are illuminated by rows of candles and colored paper.
